Users control the station frequency and volume of the Natural Radio by placing stones on either side on the center diving line. Inside the radio is a scale that calculates the amount of weight on each side. It’s this weight that controls frequency and volume. Say, for example, 1oz gives you 92.3FM, 2oz gives you 102.7FM, etc. (Obviosuly I just invented those numbers, but that’s the idea.) Same thing goes for volume: more weight, different station.
The illustrations (there’s one more inside) show small rocks placed atop the radio, but you could presumably use whatever you want.

No, there’s absolutely no reason for this radio to even exist (you could probably say that about a lot of gadgets, though), but it’s a clever little concept nonetheless.
