Expa Labs brings on Eric Friedman as general manager

With the recent announcement of Expa Labs, New York-based Expa has also appointed a new General Manager for the incubator in the form of Eric Friedman.

Friedman has been an entrepreneur in residence at Expa Labs since July of last year. Previously, he held BizDev and Sales positions at Foursquare and also worked as an analyst at Union Square Ventures.

Expa Labs is the newly launched incubator arm of Expa Studios, a traditional startup studio that takes on EIRs and specific ideas to build companies like Reserve, Drip, Operator and others.

With Expa Labs, the company is in the process of accepting applications, after which each selected company will receive $500k in seed funding.

Only six companies will be selected to participate in Expa Labs over the summer, and partners at Expa will make the final decision in who gets into Expa Labs.

Friedman told TechCrunch that Expa Labs isn’t focusing on any particular verticals, but rather on companies that will benefit from the program.

Applications are still open, which you can find here, and the program begins in early summer.
