CA Continues Buying Spree, Acquires Oblicore

CA today announced that it has acquired privately-held Oblicore, a provider of Service Level Management (SLM) software for enterprises and service providers.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, although Israeli business news outlet Globes had picked up rumors about the pending acquisition late last year and pegged the purchase price at $25 million.

If correct, this isn’t a great outcome for the company’s investors, who injected at least the same amount of capital into the company since its inception in 2000.

Oblicore has about 40 employees, located around the globe, and counts companies like T&T, ABN AMRO, British Telecom, Cable & Wireless, France Telecom and ING among its customers. The software solutions it offers help these companies design, monitor and manage service level agreements across their entire IT service portfolio in business terms.

Its solutions are designed for open connectivity to virtually any data source, with integrations to business systems and application and infrastructure monitoring tools from Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, IBM, HP, BMC and other providers.

CA boasts similar service offerings, and the acquisition of Oblicore will also extend CA’s capabilities in cloud vendor management and assurance of cloud service quality, according to the press release.

Oblicore solutions will be available directly from CA and through its channel partners.
