According to Billboard, Apple is denying any and all reports that a $400 million dollar deal was ever made with Paul McCartney. All signs point in the direction that it could happen sometime this year, but it didn’t happen over the last week.
“This is not news nor is it a scoop,” says an Apple Inc. spokesman, declining further comment.
His Steveness said in an earlier USA Today interview that:
It will happen — I hope by the first half of next year. As soon as they’re ready, we’re ready.
McCartney was quoted in Billboard last November stating that the deal was being fine-tuned and would be ready to go sometime in 2008.
Now we play more of the waiting game.
