Canon Fires Printers

Wow, the camera companies are going nuts today and Canon is kicking ass. Already this morning we’ve seen the release of the new Rebel XTi, aka the EOS 400D, but that’s not all they have for us this morning. Canon also just announced the release of four new printers, including one new single function photo printer and three new all-in-one printers.

The Pixma iP4300 builds on the iP4200 design to deliver maximum performance and simplicity. It utilizes four dye-based ink tanks and one pigment black tank in conjunction with the new ChromaLife100 System to deliver prints that can resist fading for up to 100 years. Not sure how they simulated that, but it sounds good at least. The printer features PictBridge and can print photos in resolutions up to 9600 x 2400.

New to the All-In-One models are the MP510, the MP600 and the MP810. The MP510 can copy, scan and make high quality photo prints all from a small body. It has a 1.9″ color LCD and features PictBridge so users can print directly from their cameras.Canon is touting this model as ideal for dorms. The MP600 and the MP810 both feature a new “easy-scroll wheel” for photo browsing through their integrated LCDs. They each carry a maximum resolution of 9600 x 2400 color dpi and PictBridge. The MP600 has a 2.5-inch display, while the display on the MP810 is 3-inch. The MP810 differentiates itself with its ability to scan at a maximum resolution of 4800 x 4800 with a 48-bit color depth.

The iP4300 has an estimated price of $99.99, while the MP510 will be available for $149.99. The MP600 carries a $199.99 price tag and the MP810 will top out this chart at $299.99.
